Valley Economic Alliance selects Busines Life Magazine’s Greg Krikorian as President & CEO

Greg Krikorian at Women in Business Awards luncheon put on for two decades by Business Life Magazine, Glendale.

“I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors unanimously approved hiring Gregory S. Krikorian to be the next President and CEO of the Valley Economic Alliance, said VEA Chair, Martha Diaz Aszkenazy. “Greg is uniquely qualified to lead this organization and we are confident that he will be a very positive influence upon our organization.”

Aszkenazy also said Krikorian’s “marketing experience, running Business Life Magazine, and being an elected Glendale School board member for the past twelve years qualifies him to take the helm at the VEA.

Krikorian, 50 will be formally introduced at the VEA’s 16th Annual Valley of the Stars Gala on June 29, 2013 and has already rolled up his sleeves and started coming into the office helping out with the event and in preparation for his official start on July 1, 2013.

“I am really excited about this,” said Krikorian told the Los Angeles Daily News today (June 06, 20130. “I will be working with the management team and the board to help direct our emphasis on stressing the Valley’s role in Southern California.”

Krikorian takes the helm from former newspaper executive and economic development expert Ron L. Wood, who retired.

The alliance board reportedly picked Krikorian, after a six-week search out of half dozen final candidates. He’s currently executive vice president of development and marketing executive at Cal-Conn Enterprises Inc., a Glendale-based family owned publishing and marketing company.
